Genealogy & Local History

Our non-circulating Kentucky Collection, housed in the second floor reference area, includes print materials covering local history and genealogy as well as books on the American Civil War which were donated by the late David Leer Ringo. Genealogical resources at the Paris-Bourbon County Library include databases, microfilm, and “family files,” unique records which provide information on local families as well as some Bourbon County churches and historical sites. These files have been compiled and donated by patrons, and the library has not verified the information they contain, but anyone visiting our library is welcome to view them and to make copies for personal use.

We have experienced researchers on staff to help with your genealogical and local history inquiries. If you plan to visit the library, please call (859) 987-4419 to ensure that one of our researchers will be in the library during your visit.
