The Paris-Bourbon County Public Library strives to provide a diverse array of books and other materials, programs, and services, including electronic information sources, to meet the educational, informational, and recreational needs of residents of all ages. In keeping with this goal, the Library provides access to Mobile Hot Spots for patrons to check out.
The internet is a global entity with a highly diverse user population. The Library cannot control and is not responsible for the content or accuracy of information accessed. Internet resources are provided equally to all library users. Any restriction of a child’s access to the internet, even inside the library, is the sole responsibility of the parent or legal guardian.
Mobile Hot Spot Lending Policy
Mobile Hot Spots circulate according to the Library’s Hot Spot Policy. Patrons checking out a Hot Spot for the first time will be required to sign a copy of the policy, to be kept on file. Three violations of the policy result in loss of access to Mobile Hot Spots for one calendar year.
Basics of the lending policy
- Check-out period is two weeks.
- Hot Spots are not renewable.
- A patron can only have one Hot Spot at a time.
- Patrons must be 18 or older to check out a Hot Spot.
- Upon return, Hot Spots and all components must be returned in original case.
- If any part of the Hot Spot kit is not returned or is returned damaged the patron must pay the replacement cost of the missing or damaged component.
- Once a Hot Spot is overdue the service will be automatically disconnected.
- Hot Spots users are expected to comply with the Library’s Computer & Internet Use Policy.
